Paul Archibald Caron studied under Brymner, Cullen and Dyonnet at the Art Association of Montreal, after which he made pen drawings for La Presse and the Montreal Star. He eventually turned to painting old buildings of Montreal, Quebec and the Laurentians. Winterscapes were his specialty, and many were produced for cards. Archival permenancy, using distilled water for his watercolours and acid free papers, were a primary concern. He exhibited at R.C.A., O.S.A., Art Association of Montreal, and the Fine Arts Section of the C.N.E. His works are in the National Gallery, the Museum of the Province of Quebec and many other fine galleries. He was a member of the Pen and Pencil Club, Montreal; The Arts and Letters Club, Montreal; The Canadian Society of Painters, Etchers and Engravers; The Canadian Society of Graphic Art; and the Royal Canadian Academy.
