Respected for her abilities as a basketmaker and occasional carver, Frances has lived at Malachan since early 1940s and she and her husband Joe have worked for the re-establishment of the Ditidaht band, one of a number of tribes and bands that have formed the Nuu-Chal-Nuth Nation.
