White’s masterful carving shows an advanced knowledge of Haida forms. He has developed his own personal style based on narrative story telling, incorporating the use of inlays of various materials. White also carves in wood, gold, silver, and ivory. His sculpture Raven Dancer was purchased for the permanent collection of the University of British Columbia Museum of Anthropology when he was only twenty-one years old.
He has constructed a major longhouse in his home village of Masset and has been involved in several major canoe building projects with his father. White is a dedicated teacher and cultural participant. He has also been active in the repatriation committee lobbying for the return of Haida artifacts and overseeing the reburial of human remains.
