Born in Norway in 1906, Alf Glenne was studied as an architect and worked until WWII when he moved to Canada and met the likes of Maxwell Bates and Colin Graham. His solo shows include the Victoria Art Gallery amongst others. Max Bates compared his work to that of Emily Carr in 1978. Alf Glenne's work is loose and original, captivating his mind to scenes of early life in Norway, as well as West Coast BC.
