Alf Glenne was born in Norway in 1906. He studied as an architect and worked until World War II, when he moved to Canada, where he met Maxwell Bates and Colin Graham.
Glenne’s solo shows include exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Victoria.
Max Bates compared his work to that of Emily Carr in 1978. Glenne’s work is loose and original, capturing scenes of early life in Norway, as well as West Coast British Columbia.
